Saturday’s festivities include limited edition Sir Minty chains and free Bo-Berry Biscuits if three goals are scored

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 17, 2023) – As part of Charlotte FC’s Pitches for Progress initiative, the club gathered with Bojangles in Harrisburg, North Carolina, on May 16 to officially unveil the latest community pitch, sponsored by the home of chicken and biscuits.

The new community mini pitch, located in the Gathering on Main facility in Harrisburg, will serve as a resource for local sports programs and youth to have direct access to a soccer facility, in addition to soccer programming and a character-based mentoring curriculum.

Bojangles Chief Marketing Officer Tom Boland, alongside Charlotte FC President Joe LaBue and Director of Community Engagement Dustin Swinehart, as well as Gathering on Main Director Dave Henderson spoke on the partnership and what it means for the community, followed by a ceremonial “first kick” to officially open play on the pitch. They were surrounded by youth players from around the area, who were surprised with Bojangles t-shirts, Supremes snacks and books for summer reading.

“In our partnership with Charlotte FC, Bojangles has been a part of every tailgate, every win, every draw and every loss. We feel the excitement, and we love it,” said Tom Boland, Bojangles chief marketing officer. “As a brand dedicated to togetherness and celebration through real-deal, Southern food, Bojangles is proud to officially unveil this pitch and we look forward to watching the ways it shapes our youth for years to come in this community and beyond.”

This Saturday, May 20, is also Bojangles Day at the Charlotte FC match vs Nashville SC. The first 5,000 fans through the gate will receive a limited-edition, Bojangles-branded Sir Minty chain and if Charlotte FC scores three goals or more in the game, all fans can use the code “CFC” in the Bojangles app the following day for a free Bo-Berry Biscuit at participating locations.

Customers can download the bright yellow Bojangles app on the Apple App Store or via Google Play.
